She has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art, a Master of Fine Arts from Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University, as well as a Masters of Theology and Ministry from Regent University. Her award winning work has been exhibited widely within the national art community in museums, galleries, universities, and art centers and co-ops. Her art, Timely Art Visions: Seven Sevens (49 constructive paintings of the Book of Revelation) has also been featured in magazines such as "Christianity and the Arts", "Bible Review", and was featured as a column in "Touching His Heart". Her "White Throne Judgment" was chosen one of the "Top Ten" in the international call for art, "Jesus 2000" in the National Catholic Reporter, and featured in 123Soho website to name a few.

If you are interested in learning to make art, Devi, with her 30 year background of teaching in art centers, colleges, and personal studios, can help you tap into your right brain and produce beautiful AND MEANINGFUL artwork in all mediums. She gives the student a larger art worldview using art history and art fundamentals, while exploring a variety of 2D and 3D mediums by taking some of the uncertainty out of making art to enable all ages to express themselves artistically and imaginatively. Because the world’s emphasizes on left brain education has stifled the use of the creative right brain, Devi is dedicated to teaching all ages her methods which helps the student begin to find their own style and personal expression while appreciating what other artist have achieved throughout the ages.Kids wear art conducive clothes, be on time and pick up on time and bring a non sugary snack and drink that is spill proof.

Cost 145.00 plus 20.00 supply fee Session 3 Aug 2-6 2010 10-12 AM ages 4-6 Art Adventures with Creatures Explore how things are made and put together; shape size and spatial relationships in paint and mixed media. Make your own creatures that stand out and up, Create a puppet to act out with your imagination and a magical painting back drop. Here is your children’s enrollment agreement form for the year. Please send in your deposit/supply fee as soon as possible and signed agreement to confirm your place. My method of teaching is to teach the project as soon as class starts so please be on time so that your child can hear the full lesson before he starts. When kids miss this it is hard to repeat the overall lesson in the same way over and over and it is not really fair to those who are waiting. Experience working with handicaps, special needs (dislexia and autism. ) D. or a safe place for developing anyone with an interest for fine art methods, fundamentals and practical art hands on understanding from a trained professional artist who has developed a superior all inspiring style of teaching-- others have coined her to be "The Art Whisperer" . I am announcing fine art studio art classes for adults (15-99) and children (ages 6-14) in my studio in Chesapeake, Va. where I teach people from all of Hampton Roads. If you are interested in learning to make art, I can help you nurture your creativity and teach you to produce beautiful artwork in all mediums. You will enlarge your art worldview through art history and art fundamentals. You will explore a variety of 2D and 3D mediums which will take the uncertainty out of making art to enable you to express yourself artistically and imaginatively. My teaching method goes beyond that of the traditional classroom to utilize full potential of your creative right brain. You and your children will find your own style and personal expression while appreciating what other artists have achieved throughout the ages. I have experience with helping students develop portfolios for the Governor’s Magnet School of Art and college art programs and experience teaching students with special needs. Current Classes For Children are based on the semester. Art is a process and needs consistent right brain practice and application to grow and mature otherwise it is like dabbling: Semester 1: Sept -Dec. on Wed. 4:00-5:30 or Thurs. 4:00-5:30 Ages 6-15. Semester 2: Jan. – May on Wed. 4:00-5:30 or Thurs. 4:00-5:30 Ages 6-15. The age range is based on the ability of a child to independently work in class in a creatively structured platform that enables freedom to express and a place to try what is taught. Some six year olds are not ready and some 14-5 year olds are ready for adult classes. I help you determine this in an interview. I believe in using art history to introduce many projects as well as allow the students a variety of professional art mediums to try just as an accredited art school would offer. Registration fee is $50.00 per child per semester, includes all art supplies and securing your space (non refundable as it guarantees your seat). Price is $50.00 per month per each semester for an hour and half class (less than 20.00 per class to be due in its entirety but can be paid monthly). Holidays will be according to public school system’s schedule. Make up classes will be on the other art class day if needed.
