Devi Anne Moore M.F.A. The Art WhispererDevi./Devi Anne Moore is a professional artist who instructs studio art for children and adults. She is an acclaimed artists and teacher with over thirty years of experience teaching in art centers, colleges, and her studio.She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art (the highest degree awarded in the studio arts) from joint degree program at Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University, and a Master of Theology and Ministry from Regent University.Her award winning work has been exhibited widely in the national and international art community in museums, galleries, universities, art centers and co-ops. Her art, Timely Art Visions: Seven Sevens (49 constructive paintings of the Book of Revelation), has been featured in magazines such as Christianity and the Arts and Bible Review, and was featured as a column in Touching His Heart. Her piece, "White Throne Judgment," was selected as one of the "Top Ten" best works in the international call for art ( 17 countries and almost two thousand entries) , "Jesus 2000," by the National Catholic Reporter and was featured on the 123Soho website, among others.

Experience working with handicaps, special needs (dislexia and autism. ) D. or a safe place for developing anyone with an interest for fine art methods, fundamentals and practical art hands on understanding from a trained professional artist who has developed a superior all inspiring style of teaching-- others have coined her to be "The Art Whisperer" . ENROLLING NOW FOR FALL 2009 Hello! I am announcing fine art studio art classes for adults (15-99) and children (ages 6-14) in my studio in Chesapeake, Va. where I teach people from all of Hampton Roads. If you are interested in learning to make art, I can help you nurture your creativity and teach you to produce beautiful artwork in all mediums. You will enlarge your art worldview through art history and art fundamentals. You will explore a variety of 2D and 3D mediums which will take the uncertainty out of making art to enable you to express yourself artistically and imaginatively. My teaching method goes beyond that of the traditional classroom to utilize full potential of your creative right brain. You and your children will find your own style and personal expression while appreciating what other artists have achieved throughout the ages. I have experience with helping students develop portfolios for the Governor’s Magnet School of Art and college art programs and experience teaching students with special needs. Current Classes For Children are based on the semester. Art is a process and needs consistent right brain practice and application to grow and mature otherwise it is like dabbling: Semester 1: Sept -Dec. on Wed. 4:00-5:30 or Thurs. 4:00-5:30 Ages 6-15. Semester 2: Jan. – May on Wed. 4:00-5:30 or Thurs. 4:00-5:30 Ages 6-15. The age range is based on the ability of a child to independently work in class in a creatively structured platform that enables freedom to express and a place to try what is taught. Some six year olds are not ready and some 14-5 year olds are ready for adult classes. I help you determine this in an interview. I believe in using art history to introduce many projects as well as allow the students a variety of professional art mediums to try just as an accredited art school would offer. Registration fee is $50.00 per child per semester, includes all art supplies and securing your space (non refundable as it guarantees your seat). Price is $50.00 per month per each semester for an hour and half class (less than 20.00 per class to be due in its entirety but can be paid monthly). Holidays will be according to public school system’s schedule. Make up classes will be on the other art class day if needed.
